The Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie & du Vin de Dijon, a place dedicated to the celebration of the “Gastronomic Meal of the French”, will open its doors to the public after more than a decade of development on May 6.

The center extends over 1,750 m² of exhibition space in a new building nestled in the heart of the city, not far from its Climat Bourgogne vineyard classified by Unesco and the Route des Grands Crus which attract wine lovers from around the world. entire.

What will you find in the museum?

The Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin will offer visitors several avenues to immerse themselves in the world of French food and wine, including cooking classes, wine tastings, restaurants, films and exhibitions, all organized on site in cooperation.

It offers four distinct exhibition pavilions, including a one-of-a-kind temporary exhibition titled “It’s not cake: the secrets of French pastry” which explores the details of this sweet delicacy and was created with the support of a renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé.

On site, the Ferrandi Paris Cooking School will offer courses in English in two laboratories, one for cooking and one for pastry. It plans to welcome 110 students from all over the world every year.

In the Cave de la Cité, you will find more than 250 different wines offered by the glass and tastings led by the School of Wines. The selections will come from all over the world, but the cellar will give pride of place to Burgundy wines.

Gourmet bibliophiles will find what they are looking for in the specialist bookstore, which offers literature related to gastronomy for purchase.

How to visit the International City of Gastronomy and Wine?

Located in Dijon in the French region of Burgundy, one of Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2022 regions, the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin is located on the site of the former General Hospital. It is located about one kilometer from Dijon train station, an hour and a half by TGV-Lyria train from Paris.
